Devotional Reflection: The Father of Lights

Scripture: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” — James 1:17

When you think of Jesus, you may picture Him as Savior, Shepherd, or Friend. You may imagine His compassion as He healed the sick, His tears at Lazarus’ tomb, or His mercy at the cross. But to the angels, He is something even more profound — He is Father.

Every star that shines in heaven owes its light to Him. Every angel who takes a role in history reflects His radiance. They were created through Him and for Him, and they serve out of love for the One who spoke light into existence.

This is why following Jesus is more than just believing His words — it’s entering into His family. When you walk with Christ, you are stepping into the same light that angels walk in. You are part of something cosmic, eternal, and radiant — a household of heaven where glory and grace are shared freely among sons, daughters, and servants of the King.

Jesus is the Father of Lights — not only of the stars, the angels who are called stars, but of every shining soul redeemed by His love. His light never flickers, never fades, and never fails. In Him, there are no shifting shadows, only the steady brilliance of truth and mercy.
