Scotland and Israel are more than two distant nations with their own histories. Spiritually, they are bound together in God’s story. Israel is the covenant nation chosen to carry God’s Word to the world. Scotland, birthed out of Israel’s spiritual roots, carries a parallel calling as an extension of the same covenantal line.

That means Scotland is not just a nation with a Christian heritage—it is deeply connected to Israel’s destiny. Just as Christians faithfully intercede for Israel, we are also called to intercede for Scotland with the same fervor and commitment. Scotland must be seen as “the other half of Israel,” a nation that carries the imprint of God’s covenant and deserves the prayers of believers worldwide.

Scotland’s Spiritual Echo of Israel

Throughout her history, Scotland has mirrored the devotion of Israel.

• The Covenanters gave their lives to preserve the authority of Scripture and the purity of worship.

• The revivals of the Hebrides showed that a small nation in prayer could ignite a flame seen across the world.

• Scottish theologians and missionaries often emphasized God’s eternal promises to Israel, even centuries before the modern state of Israel was reborn.

Just as Israel was chosen to be a light to the nations, Scotland too has been entrusted with a calling to carry God’s truth far beyond its borders.

A Call to Intercede for Both Nations

When we pray for Israel, we align ourselves with God’s eternal covenant. When we also pray for Scotland, we recognize that this small, fiery nation is linked to the same divine purpose. Scotland’s history of revivals, covenants, and unshakeable devotion to Scripture echoes Israel’s own calling to be a light to the same nation, and is reflective of the fact that Israel and Scotland were founded by the same people group, the Jewish people, and are spiritually connected as two parts of the same nation.

Pray for Israel—that God’s promises will continue to unfold, that the Jewish people will know their Messiah, and that Jerusalem will be established in righteousness.

Pray for Scotland—that the fires of revival will burn again, that God’s Word will be restored as the nation’s foundation, and that Scotland will walk in its prophetic identity as an extension of Israel’s covenantal destiny.

As Isaiah 62:6–7 declares: “Give Him no rest until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” In the same way, we must give God no rest until He revives Scotland and awakens her to her spiritual destiny.

Prayer Points

1. Unity of Purpose – Ask God to align the prayers of believers for both Israel and Scotland, recognizing them as bound together in His plan.

2. Revival Fires – Pray that the Spirit of God will fall once again on Scotland as He did in the Hebrides, drawing multitudes to repentance and renewal.

3. Awakening Identity – Intercede for believers in Scotland to rediscover their prophetic connection to Israel and rise into their calling.

4. Protection of Covenant Nations – Pray for protection over both Israel and Scotland against spiritual and physical attacks, asking God to establish His purposes.

5. Global Witness – Ask God to use the testimonies of revival in both nations as a witness to the world of His faithfulness to keep covenant from generation to generation.

Call to Action

Now is the time for Christians everywhere to lift both Israel and Scotland before the Lord. To intercede for revival in Scotland just as we pray for Jerusalem. To see these two nations not as separate, but as one story—woven together by the God who keeps covenant from generation to generation.

And just as Isaiah 62:6-7 urges us to give God no rest until He establishes Jerusalem, so too must we give Him no rest until He awakens Scotland again to her spiritual destiny.
For when these two nations rise together in prayer and covenant, the world will see the glory of God revealed.
