Strength for the Journey: Nourished by God

0

Our souls hunger just as much as our bodies do. In this devotional, discover how God feeds and sustains us with His Word and presence, offering the true nourishment that never fades.

Scripture Anchor: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31

Our bodies are living temples, designed by God with care and intention. Too often, we treat food as either an enemy or an indulgence, forgetting that it was first given as a blessing in the garden — a gift to sustain and bring life.

When we see food only as calories, restrictions, or quick fixes, we can miss its sacred role. God created fruits bursting with sweetness, grains filled with energy, and herbs that bring healing. He cares about what we put in our bodies, not to limit us, but to help us flourish.

Healthy choices are not about vanity or punishment; they are about alignment. When we nourish ourselves well, we align our bodies with God’s design, fueling us for service, prayer, and joy. Every meal becomes an opportunity to thank Him for provision and to choose what builds strength instead of stealing it.

Reflection Questions:

• Do I see food as a gift or a burden?

• What one change could I make this week to nourish myself more intentionally?

• How can I invite God into my daily meals and choices?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the abundance of good things You provide. Teach me to honor You in my eating and drinking. Help me choose what strengthens my body, mind, and spirit so I may serve You with energy and joy. Amen.
